I took a quick peek at net-a-porter’s big sale and while I had little luck in the clothing section (it seems like everybody my size got to it before I did) I spent quite a bit of time browsing the accessories.

Designer accessories tend to be quite expensive, sometimes ridiculously so and most of us console ourselves by saying “It costs a lot but… it’ll last forever.” Designer iPad cases however, are what really got my attention. The average designer iPad case costs anywhere from a couple hundred dollars less than or a couple hundred more than an iPad….

Isn’t that a bit like buying tires that cost more than or as much as your car? Anyway the fact that they are being sold means somebody wants them, more power to you whoever you are. While I can’t make myself understand why anybody would want such an expensive case, I do believe there are people who wonder why anyone would buy any designer accessory, for example a $500 wallet. And as I sit here staring at an ugly scratch on my YSL wallet, I’m wondering the same thing. Guess it won’t last forever after all.
